Kate O'Brien Creative isn't like other photographic studios. We pride ourselves on giving you unique, eye catching editorial style images every time. Even before the day of your shoot, countless hours have gone into preparing every little detail. The work doesn't stop after your shoot either. We spend just as much time ensuring your final images are edited, retouched and polished to perfection.

Booking your shoot
Here at Kate O'Brien Creative we put a lot of work into your images, we're proud of our reputation for going the extra mile to get the job done, but we need your help! To make your shoot extra special, we source props and costumes from all over the world and the postal service being what it is, that takes time.
We must ask that we are given a 3 week minimum lead-time on all shoots. This gives us time to plan and style your shoot, build any sets we require and basically give us time to brainstorm! Anything less than that and you're doing yourself a disservice and we hate turning out half baked shoots. It makes baby Jesus cry.
Deposit
We ask for a minimum 30% non-refundable deposit for all shoots. This confirms your shooting date and is the only way you can guard against someone else booking your requested date during heavy booking periods. It must be paid no later than 3 weeks (21 days) before your shoot. Our editorial style is heavily dependant on set design and props and your deposit is essentially used to fund this. If you cancel or change your date, this amount will be non-refundable.
Balance
The balance must be paid 3 days before your shooting date. If the final amount is not received at this time, your shoot will be void and you will forfeit your deposit.
Cash payments are acceptable on the day of the shoot. This is the ONLY exception. Please advise via email if you wish to pay your balance on the day of the shoot.
Editing
Editing is a three part process here at Kate O'Brien Creative. After your shoot, we'll forward you images for you to proof, once you select the images that most appeal, we'll get to work retouching them to print standard. They will again be submitted for proofing and upon acceptance you will be supplied with hires images suitable for printing.
Your shoot will always include a set amount of retouching and editing as outlined in our contract. Should your images need further retouching, this will be charged separately at a rate of $100 per hour. Turn around time for editing is 2-3 weeks.
What standard retouching includes:
Removal of stray hairs, clean up of eyebrows, facial hair. Removal of blemishes, tattoos (if required), piercings (if required), wrinkles
Rates
Here at Kate O'Brien Creative, we don't charge by the hour or for a sitting. We're ready for anything and if you want to be photographed riding a circus elephant down the main street of Sydney we're up for it! If you want some edgy headshots that actually say something about your company besides "We hate our job and now they've gone and made us pose for these boring photos" we're up for that too but it would be wrong to charge the same price for those very different shots for very different audiences.
We'll always give you 100% no matter what, however we feel the fairest way to charge is by keeping in mind the complexity of your shoot. Our method for coming up with this calculation is a mysterious ancient secret from the far east but usually it consists of the cost to set up your shoot + the amount of people in the shot + editing and retouching and a little extra to keep us in new socks and panties. Our prices start at $680.
Contract
Before any commitment is made from either Kate O'Brien Creative or the client a contract must be signed. This contract is legally binding and ensures both parties are clear on all aspects of the shoot. When booking your shoot, a copy of our standard contract will be supplied to you for your perusal. We cannot accept your deposit nor start planning your shoot until the contract is signed and returned either by mail or via fax.
